Our History

IEC’s history spans over 50 years. In 1955, IEC’s founder Joe B. McQueen designed his first slip ring and began a one-man operation primarily supporting Texas oil well logging companies. In the years since, IEC has amassed thousands of custom slip ring designs and decades of experience supporting customers worldwide. Through Mr. McQueen’s vision, craftsmanship and attention to customer needs, IEC has become a premier manufacturer of slip ring assemblies for a wide variety of industries around the globe. Today each slip ring is manufactured and hand assembled at our facility in Austin, Texas just as it was in 1955. Unlike many slip ring manufacturers, IEC’s sole business is slip ring assemblies. We focus on doing one thing and doing it right, with attention to detail second to none. IEC has supplied slip rings that have traveled into space and combed the deepest depths of the oceans. Our Mission

IEC is committed to providing the highest quality slip ring in the industry. We are not the most inexpensive slip ring on the market and don’t wish to be. We use the highest quality materials available and we don’t cut corners. Our facility is continuously evolving to expand our production capabilities with state of the art CNC machining centers and management that constantly evaluates our manufacturing processes to ensure the shortest lead-times possible. We continue to modify existing units, to improve their functionalitiy and longevity and constantly search for new or improved materials to use in our products. IEC places a high value on customer support and continues to strive to provide the highest levels of satisfaction to all our customers worldwide.
