Maintenance

Maintenance of your slip ring is very important.  Maintenance consists of removing brush dust from the slip ring every 500,000 revolutions.  This can vary by model and by customer application.  IEC recommends you set up a schedule for maintaining your slip ring(s).  Please contact IEC for assistance determining your maintenance schedule.

Also, if your slip ring is used for mission critical applications we highly recommend that you purchase a backup (spare) slip ring.  This provides peace of mind and gives you the flexibility to rotate your slip rings for maintenance or repair. 

Testing

There are several ways to test a slip ring for any given electrical characteristics.  The information obtained in this link represent IEC's standard test circuits.  The schematics are presented as equivalent circuits and do not contain the information required for test duplication.  Our testing department will gladly supply test details and technical assistance upon request.  TEST SCHEMATICS
